It’s time once again to ask for your help with the Annual: (“Feel really GOOD about making a difference in a KID”S life”) Lake Cuyamaca “Fish ‘in in the Pines” Kid’s Derby Saturday Sept. 25th 2021.

Ride sharing will be a new concept for us this year so please get a hold of me “Driveway Dave Hanes” and let’s save gas and parking by figuring out some car loads.
We always need as many people as possible for this event! Your favorite Fishing Club: The San Diego Angler’s supports this great event by helping with the cooking and Serving, and Man do we do some of both with all your help, really well!!!!!!

Your ‘Great Club’ has cooked tons of hot Dogs, Burgers, and Fish over the years for the eager young Fishermen & Fisherwomen and their Families that attend this Event, and I’m sure it will be another great turn out this year!

So PLEASE let me know that you can, and then come on out and HELP with this worthy cause. Please contact Dave Hanes, Ray Broadfoot, or any of the Board members so we can sign you up and get you in on this Great, Fun Event.
If you have never had the chance to come and be a part of this GREAT event, then this year is the one that has your name written all over it!  Please contact me (Dave) and I’ll get you signed up, and I promise you won’t regret it!

There’ll be a Sign-up sheet at the meeting!

Thanks in advance & see yah there!

Ken Bayne (new member)

My son Kevin and I are new member to SD Anglers and only started fishing in late December 2015. We recently did a full day trip to Catalina Island aboard the Fury out of Dana Wharf Sportfishing. This is a picture of Kevin’s first Yellowtail.

There we many older and experienced fishermen on the boat with expensive gear and years of knowledge. They were all fly-lining with 1/8 ounce weights and live Anchovies or using surface iron jigs. Kevin was bottom fishing with a dropper loop and a strip of squid, and he caught first and largest Yellowtail that day. Overall about 40 Yellowtail were caught that day.
