Okay Open Bay Bass Tournament Anglers. The weather outlook is good for Saturday, February 16th, so the Open Bay Bass Tournament is a go.
Looking forward to some great catches coming to the weigh station. And let's not forget the great food being served as well as the beer being provided by Firestone Walker Brewing Company. Oh. Did I mention the great raffle we hold at the end of day? We will have over $10,000 in cash and prizes going out the tournament winners and another $10,000 in raffle prizes up for grabs at the end of the day.
See everyone on Saturday at Shelter Island.

We are sorry for the date conflict, but February 9th was not an available date. If we don't hold it on February 16th, then we need to cancel the event as opposed to just rescheduling. We know some of you committed to fishing the SBS tournament, and we understand completely. Give us a day to finish informing the tournament anglers. But in the mean time please email the Tournament Director, Dwayne Patenaude, if you need to ask for a refund. And we hope to see you back next year. Good luck to all the anglers fishing the SBS Tournament.
Due to the forecasted high winds in excess of 18mph on Saturday, we will need to postpone the tournament. More information will follow in the next few days. In the meantime, please direct any questions by replying to this post, email or messenger only. We want everyone to be safe on the water and it was not an easy decision to postpone. But we are also faced certain regulations concerning the event tents and wind in excess of 15mph prohibits the use of our event tents. Thank you for your understanding is this matter.
There is a Sbs tournament February 16th what is wrong with the 9th. Already checked no tournaments and good weather that day too.
That's a bummer about the weather and all the conflicts. But....now I get to fish it!!! I was unable to fish this weekend because I will be in cabo San Lucas. What ever happened to January dates? I heard....that there was another tournament and that's why it was set for 2-2-19 ....leave the bay bass tournament in January....how about next year's tournament 1-25-2020.....that's my Birthday...ha ha....good luck to all the fishermen fishing all or whatever tournament....deal with it, at least both of those tournament are not in the same bay!!!! Soooooo looking forward to fishing it
Bummer. Also weekend of Pacific Coast Sportfishing Festival in OC.
After reading all these comments I feel like my odds of winning are that much greater
If this were an outside or Coastal event I could see a possible date change......but this event is limited to the Bay ONLY......its a TOURNAMENT already! The SBS apologizes to any of the teams that have to make some form of a decision
This happens to fall right on top of my 2nd event for the Saltwater Bass Series held in Mission Bay.....
And it's President's day weekend and had plans to be out of town with the family. Refunds ??
Btw....how much is it?
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is reminding anglers that multiple changes to the recreational groundfish regulations have gone into effect for 2019. The new regulations were …
It's about time. The problem, imo was never around the depth that fishing occurred in but more so the 15 fish limits and year round seasons. I can remember pulling up 15 fish strings off the banks in the northern channel islands and many of those wound up being gravid females that could not be released even if we wanted to...
“The Rockfish Conservation Area (RCA) boundary has increased to 75 fathoms (450 feet) in the Southern Management Area.
The depth limit has increased to 40 fathoms (240 feet) inside the Cowcod Conservation Area, where select groundfish species may be taken or possessed.”
