Twilight Charter
Friday Evening, August 15th
This is our last twilight charter for the year, so don't miss out! It it is a great way to meet new club members while doing something that we all enjoy, fishing!! The fish always bite and the sunsets are awesome and how do you beat a better deal than $15 per person. And as before , 1 rod with 15 pound test or less and no tackle boxes. Yearbooks Ads
We are now getting ready to produce the 2008 yearbooks. The yearbooks are a valuable tool to the membership of the club. I don’t know about your yearbook, but mine is pretty dog-eared by the end of the year with all of the use it gets! One of the more valuable tools is the ads in the back of the book. Whenever I might need something; I look to see if we have a club member that might be able to help me. Appliance repair, tax preparers, CPA’s, attorneys, electricians, plumbers, metal fabricators, realtors, printers, insurance,you name it and we might have a club member who does it. Why not give your business to a club member instead of looking up in the yellow pages or googling it online? You are pretty much assured you are going to get a good job with a good deal attached to it. The ads help to pay for the cost of the yearbook. I don’t know if we could produce it without our advertisers. So now here is the plug. Help to support the club by purchasing some advertisement. Print ads start at a meager $40 for a 1/3 of a page ad, $80 for ½ page ad and $160 for a full page ad. And new for this year is we can offer advertising on our webpage www.sandiegoanglers.com. It has become a very valuable information tool also. Every bit of information you need is available on the web page. And the viewing of the web ads are not just limited to the club members with year books now. Anybody can access the website so now the whole world can see your ads! Combo Ad packages (print and web) are available for the asking. Contact Dwayne for more info. Benefits Polinsky Children's Center
On August 28, 2007 San Diego Anglers President Allen Schneid presented a check for $5000.00 to Kelsey Warren, Event Coordinator for the Child Abuse Prevention Foundation for Polinsky Children's Center in San Diego. Polinsky Children's Center is a 24 hour facility run by the County of San Diego and is for children up to 18 years of age who are temporarily separated from their families for their own safety or when parents cannot provide care. Each month over 300 children are admitted to the center.
Thanks to the efforts of the OBB committee headed up in previous years by Mike Kezele and Dwayne Patenaude, and supported by dozens of volunteers, sponsors, and participants, The San Diego Anglers is able to help the Polinsky Children's Center provide services to children who have been physically, sexually, and or emotionally abused, medically or physically neglected, and or have no parent or guardian.
Polinsky Children's Center is the primary Charity supported by the San Diego Anglers Open Bay Bass Tournament which is held each January. With Allen and Kelsey is Bill Davidson, Past President of The San Diego Anglers, and current Co-Chair for the tournament which is scheduled for January 19, 2008.
